Last year in December, I found myself in need of a watch. It was final exam season, and there was no way I could whip out my phone to see how many minutes I had left, nor could I keep raising my head to stare at the giant scoreboard that projected the time. I feared I would lose precious seconds and be suspicious of cheating.
Perhaps it was the stress pheromones emanating in the room that really made the absence of a watch all the more prominent to me, but I didn’t know where to begin with watches. Where should I start? Should I get a Daniel Wellington? Leather watches always took a bit of breaking in to buckle in less than a minute. So when I was approached by JORD Wooden Watches to do a fall campaign, how could I refuse?
I want to make it clear that I only partner with companies that I feel have good quality products that are worth your time. These modern timepieces are absolutely stunning, and the wood gives them a twist that differentiates them from the common watch. I’ve gotten multiple compliments from my Koa and Ash watch! I specifically chose Koa wood for its connection to Hawaii; it’s a place that really resonated with me after visiting, and a place I’d like to return to some day. Now I take a little bit of Hawaii everywhere I go.
Another great thing about JORD watches is that once ordered, they are already custom adjusted to size, and any additional pieces that may have been removed in sizing come enclosed in a beautiful wooden box. Honestly, if I thought the watch was stunning, the box comes close to being even more beautiful. Their unisex designs make wonderful gifts as well for the holiday season!
