I’ve made it all too clear in blog posts past that I’m loving the oversized sleeves/satin/Victorian-style blouse trend this fall. It’s so easy to pair with the jeans in my closet, because I usually forget that I own any other kind of bottoms other than denim.

For this look I channeled my inner 70’s bohemian, minus the clog heels. The eyelet lace detail on the front adds a vintage quality that looks great unless you decide to wear a colourful bra underneath (if that is how you roll, please keep it to a muted burgundy bralette. Thanks.). I think I’ve watched too much of Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock lately, which pretty much sums up my favourite trends for fall in a single film. The actual story is set in the early 20th century, but the movie was made in the 70’s, so you have a wonderful blend of my two favourite time periods in the clothes worn by the cast (which influenced the works of Etro last fall). What can I say? I’m entirely a romantic.
