Daughter of the Sea

“I have sea foam in my veins, I understand the language of waves.”

I found this quote from the Selkie & Nix website, a company that sells luscious handmade creams, muds, balms, soaps, and oils. I am an ocean lover myself, and anything to do with the life aquatic captivates me. I am from the tropics, so there is always a part of me that yearns for the beach and the sea.

I recently received packages from the lovely Katie of Selkie & Nix, containing their revitalizing mud, and their geranium barrier hand cream. I love love love getting mail, so I was extremely eager to try out these products.

The revitalizing mud is one of the most refreshing things I have ever put on my face. It smells like summer, and contains green tea infused water, which contains tons of antioxidants and is the perfect wake-up call for tired skin. It’s a little bit of an exfoliant too!

The hand cream was a little hard to get out of the bottle, since the pump wasn’t working. I eventually just opened the bottle and scooped the formula on my hands. You’d think that because of the olive and geranium oil, this product would be greasy. On the contrary, the oils quickly absorbed and my hands have never been so soft. I use this product every night, so that I can wake up with soft hands! The formula is thick and heavy-duty, perfect for the driest of skin.

Thank you very much to the Selkie & Nix team for sending these goodies to me, I appreciate it so much! I will definitely be purchasing more products from them in the future; it’s nice to know that what you put on your face was made by hand and with care. And I feel like a daughter of the sea.
