COFFEE GOES BEST WITH A GOOD BOOK
HOW TO BE PARISIAN WHEREVER YOU ARE: LOVE, STYLE, AND BAD HABITS
by: Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret, and Sophie Mas
This book is the next best thing since Alexa Chung’s It was released. Cheeky, wise, and downright hilarious, I’ve had to force myself to read slower so that I could savour every page, and the book would never end. This is better than any French for Dummies you’ll ever read.
Divided into sections addressing basic French customs, French habits
(yes. but no. but yes.), personal style, love, and other curiosities of the French lifestyle, this book has become my new Bible, never failing to make me laugh, smile, and feel like a whimsical, dreamy Parisienne. It is a guide to life for women everywhere, especially those who adore the Parisian lifestyle. You’re learning from the best: de Maigret is an ambassador for Chanel, Diwan is a fashion magazine editor, Mas is a producer, and Berest works in the film/television/theatre industry. These women are powerful and iconic; their life lessons are worth trusting.
I highly recommend this book for les filles who are particularly interested in the subtle elegance of Parisian style and class, and those looking for a good laugh. There is so much wit and truth compiled into 246 pages, but you’ll feel like a Parisian local by the end of it.
